Jerrabomberra Wetlands and Canberra City Farm are hosting an exciting and fun-filled open day to celebrate World Wetlands Day on:
Saturday February 3rd 2018
4pm – 8pm
There will be a huge variety of stalls and activities for the whole family including ranger guided walks, children’s activities, reptile displays, art exhibitions, Indigenous cultural activities, bar, food and lots lots more. This year we will be featuring local produce and sustainable living exhibitions from Canberra City Farm.
World Wetlands Day is celebrated internationally each year on 2 February. It marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) in Ramsar, Iran, on 2 February 1971. World Wetlands Day was first celebrated in 1997. Since then government agencies, non-government organisations and community groups have celebrated World Wetlands Day by undertaking actions to raise public awareness of wetland values and benefits and promote the conservation and wise use of wetlands.
Entry is by gold coin donation with most activities free of charge. All proceeds go towards conservation efforts at Jerrabomberra Wetlands.
Sponsored by ICON Water, Canberra Milk, Capital Brewing Co. and ACTSmart, and run by the Woodlands and Wetlands Trust in partnership with the ACT Parks and Conservation Service, ACT Government and Canberra City Farm.
