Volunteer with us

Volunteers with the Woodland and Wetland Trust are involved with the team on the front lines of conservation. Be part of citizen science!

We have a range of opportunities across our two sites, Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary and Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve.

Together the two sites protect over 1500 hectares of the Australian Capital Territory’s most significant landscapes. These reserves showcase the importance of environmental assets to the community and aim to inspire action for conservation.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers help us with a wide range of tasks and activities. Opportunities are often seasonal and require varying levels and types of skill, experience, availability and fitness. Some activities will require a Working with Vulnerable People card.

It is free for volunteers to obtain a WWVP card – this can be done through

Help us monitor the incredible species that call Jerra home. We use multiple methods to monitor animals at the wetlands. Some tasks involve handling animals.

Activities can vary depending on the season and are coordinated by Rangers at both Mulligans Flat and Jerrabomberra Wetlands. To learn more about becoming a ParkCare volunteer register with our partners ACT Parks and Conservation at the ParkCare Hub

Bring your team out on your social impact days to Jerrabomberra Wetlands. Get your hands dirty helping out in this novel ecosystem. Participate in team building activites or guided tours by our ecologists.
